Take Action with the True Food Network

“Genetically engineered (GE) food threatens everything I stand for. It’s time to let food companies know we do not want to eat food that has been tampered with” – Margaret Fulton, food icon and True Food Network member.

Everyday Australians are taking back control of their food. When consumers speak, companies listen. Join Margaret and the True Food Network in the activities below – taking action today for a GE-free tomorrow.

Demand choice for farmers and consumers
Over 100 people gathered to show their opposition to both the GE crop summit being held in Melbourne and the commercial release of GE canola in Victoria. Another anti-GE rally is planned outside the State ALP conference in Melbourne this Saturday.
DIY local media
You can make a difference and help to keep Australia GE-free by beating the drum in your local area. You can participate in local media by writing a letter to the Editor or by calling talkback radio. Media attention helps to raise the public profile of the issues, raise awareness among the community, and also puts pressure onto companies and decision makers whose actions impact on GE contamination in our country. Read on for some great tips on "how to" and keep up to date with the latest issues on this site!
Find a Farmers Market
Tired of dreary shopping in flurescent lit aisles? Sick of the chemical ridden weeks old produce on offer at the supermarket? Turn the trolley around and start shopping at a local farmer's market. There are hundred's of farmer's markets around Australia where you can buy fresh produce direct from the farmer.
